NEXT WEEK: Literacy Night with Author Gregory Mone - November 5, 2014
Gregory Mone's dual career as a children's author and science journalist allows him to tell some unique stories. His talks typically focus on the process of writing both fiction and nonfiction. There's a significant STEM component to his presentations, which feature flying robots and self-driving cars along with marked-up manuscript pages from novels, outlines and early notes from his books, and more. At the start he will review some of the wilder stories he's written over the years for magazines like Popular Science and Discover. He will talk us through the entire process of writing a book, from the initial idea through the planning, the creative writing, the revisions, and the finished work.

Did you know there's an easy way to help us raise money for our school? It's called Take Charge of Education, and it's helping our school right now. Have a Target REDcard? You can ensure it's working harder for you (and our school!).
Here's how it works: visit Target.com/tcoe or call 1-800-316-6142 to designate our school, then use your REDcard whenever you shop. When you use your REDcard (Target Credit Card, Target Debit Card or Target Visa Credit Card), Target will donate up to 1% of your purchases to the eligible K–12 school of your choice.
Grandparents, alumni, friends and neighbors are all welcome to participate in the program. The more people we involve, the harder the program works for our school.
